Who we are

Cherry Street Cats is me (Robin), my husband Steve, Sandi, Michelle, Verena, Vinyse, Derek, Kent, and Connie, a group of dedicated cat lovers who care for a colony of feral cats in the east end of Toronto. I also have a great rescue team of Lesley, Joanne, and Susan. Together we do our best to make the lives better for feral and homeless cats and kittens. 900+ cats helped in nine years!

Summer in the City

It's July in Toronto and that means it's hot and at the yard, that it's stinky and filled with flies.

Jo is just taking it easy on a toasty afternoon. I have seen her crossing to the grassy area, though, and the bird remains I have found make me think that she goes out early to hunt. Her brother Mo has been missing for the last five or six days - hopefully he is just on a hunting trip.
Oh, Jo found enough energy to groom herself.

Biff says it's too hot to get up and eat.

Hank and Sally are best buddies, I haven't ever seen them apart.

Jackson, Teddy and Tina think that it's never too hot to eat.

And Pebbles knows he has to get it before the flies and raccoons. I'm sure we are keeping a group of raccoons very well fed but not much can be done to prevent that.

We've put up fly strips around the feeding stations in a valiant yet ultimately futile attempt to keep the swarms away. Oh well, in a few months we'll be trying to figure out how to keep water from freezing. I'll take the flies any day.
