Who we are

Cherry Street Cats is me (Robin), my husband Steve, Sandi, Michelle, Verena, Vinyse, Derek, Kent, and Connie, a group of dedicated cat lovers who care for a colony of feral cats in the east end of Toronto. I also have a great rescue team of Lesley, Joanne, and Susan. Together we do our best to make the lives better for feral and homeless cats and kittens. 900+ cats helped in nine years!

Oh my aching back

No stay at home snow days for us. It's dig, dig, dig, shovelling paths for the cats and I'm feeling it today, I'm totally crippled.  I've come to hate the snow because of the cats.  You can tell they hate the feel of it on their paws.  Feeding takes longer, it's just unpleasant all around, but only a few more months until spring.

And I just threw this photo in because I like it, all of our orange guys at home in one spot.
Time for some A5-35!

  1. I'm just heading out to feed some ferals. They all come from an area where it is heavy woods. There is no way to shovel paths for them. I just pray they are finding the food ok. It is gone each night when I return but there are other hungry critters out there, too. Do you ever spot wild-life coming around to where you leave the cat's food?

  2. Deb, in the city it's only raccoons we have to deal with, for sure they come around. Not much you can do about that, at least you are leaving food, I'm sure they will find it. The ferals are heartbreaking in this weather.

  3. My guys don't seem to mind the snow so far, at least not the young ones. Mr Fancyfeet came home late last night after being AWOL for four nights and he and his sister Firefly (7 mth old "kittens") had a riot playing stalk and pounce and chase-me-chase-you and roll-in-the- snow. The catnip toy was missing this morning. I think I know who got into it.
